Shoot for the Stars!!!

The well-known Perseid Shower that happens every summer will apparently be inhibited by a waning gibbeous moon (whatever that means), but fear not sky-watchers. There are some other lesser known meteor showers that happen every year which peak beginning tonight and through August 20th for those interested in the night skies. (These make great photo ops too!) According to the website www.space.com, there are 6 other meteor showers that occur every year that do not receive anywhere near the attention the Perseid Shower does, but offer equally exciting opportunities for viewing and photo enjoyment. So…starting tonight, mark your calendars, get out there and look up to the skies to catchall the excitement. The article on www.space.com that covers the minor showers is here: Summer Meteor Showers and there is also a basic tutorial on how to shoot space photography here: How to Shoot Space Photography
